Discovering Requirements through Design
Downloads
One of the two projects undertaken during my time at SkillsFuture Singapore's Enterprise Engagement Office(EEO), I was asked to discover requirements for an upcoming Channel Partner's Portal. To give some context, Channel Partners are organizations(i.e. Trade associations, Industry leaders, and etc) that amplify Skillsfuture's efforts of promoting skills adoption amongst businesses.
To do so, I proposed the conduct of user interviews with select Channel Partners, however, due to the difficulty of organizing such outreach this approach was scrapped. Thus, I've decided to instead conduct an internal workshop amongst Skillsfuture officers whose daily interactions with Channel Partners allows them familiarity with the issues they might face.
With that, I've adopted the approach of stakeholder-centred, participatory design alongside the concept of Pains/Pains Relievers and Gains/Gains Creators from the Value Proposition Canvas(VPC) to structure my findings. Data gathering involved a review of existing research such as Open and Axail Codes from prior interviews with Channel Partners, decks from creative agencies adjacent to this project, and lastly a 'Card Gen&sort' workshop that I've designed and facilitated. You can view the Miro board here.
During the workshop, participants were encouraged to focus on salient Pains and Pain Relievers, from which the Pains and Pain Relievers generated were collectively sorted into groups. Data from the workshop was then integrated into researched data points, the resultant data was cleaned and sorted by their semantic similarity and solution addressability.
Findings and documentation for this endeavour can be found in the following presentation and the relevant downloads from the aside bar.
